Joyce Lattimore the wife of Henry "Hank" C. Lattimore for 39 years and their only child, Alexia Lattimore Moore were proud to be the family and Support Team to Coach Lattimore. Henry, as Joyce called him, was committed to merging all the people and thing that he loved together to make the 4 F’s, Family, Friends, Football and Fishing. Hank wanted to share his knowledge and experience to help and educate others. He had the love of Coaching but also the love of seeing the ones he loved succeed.

We had the idea to start The Hank Lattimore Foundation based on the principles “Coach Latt” lived by and the agonizing task we were faced with to care for him after he was diagnosed and later died of Alzheimer’s. We formed a Team to care for a man we loved so dearly and who has given us so much. We could not have done this without each other, which also brought up the question of what do others go through who are caring for a sick or dying loved one? Unfortunately, some of Daddy’s players or his sons have had similar hardships or have also joined Daddy in “Football Heaven” and their families have had to become care givers. We want to support them through these difficult times and be there for them like “Daddy”, “Henry”,” Coach Latt”.

Coach Lattimore was also a supporter of Historically Black Colleges and University and their abilities to produce superior athletes that can compete on any level of the game. He was aware of the inequalities on the playing field and was determined to show that His players were as good as Predominately White Institutions. He has coached several players who have been drafted and or played in the NFL such as our Board Treasure, William Frizzelle and Board Members Robert Massey and Myron Dupree. Therefore, an additional goal is to provide opportunities for players at NCCU the opportunity to showcase their abilities and have the same opportunities to play beyond College Football.

It is our wish that The HLF gain enough support to continuously assist Coach’s sons and their families when they need us and to provide a Scholarship to current players who have experienced the same hardships. We also are looking forward to collaborating with existing organizations to support NCCU Football and foster opportunities for enrichment.
